Introducing electronic GP reports

Our Underwriting Submission Platform isn't the only way we’ve invested in reducing the time it takes to put protection in place for your clients. One other way we’ve recently launched in electronic GP reports.

Who hasn’t had issues with getting a GP to complete a paper Private Medical Attendant's (PMA) report?

Irish Life has worked exclusively with Clanwilliam Health to bring an electronic solution to requesting and receiving medical reports from GPs.  This is an incredible innovation that transforms the process of obtaining Private Medical Attendant's reports (PMAs). 

SureMed is a new transfer tool that Clanwilliam Health and Irish Life have deployed in Ireland to allow for the secure and fast transfer of medical reports between the life insurance company and the GP surgery.

The SureMed technology has place for a number of years in New Zealand, and recently launched in Australia. Following our work with Clanwilliam, all GPs in Ireland now have the option to receive Irish Life reports straight into their Practice Management System. Then, as soon as the underwriter updates a PMA request in Irish Life, the report is received by the GP’s system. 

This also means the time it takes a GP to complete a report is significantly reduced, as the SureMed technology essentially completes it, by taking the client's data from the Practice Management System and pre-populating the repor, for the GP to review and return to Irish Life online. It eliminates the manual part of the process and is very simple to set up, in seconds, with no cost to the GP practice. Over 300 GPs are now signed up for electronic PMAs and the feedback has been excellent. Boyne Medical Practice told us: “SureMed has been a game-changer. It’s made our PMA requests effortless.” 

In collaborating with Clanwilliam Health to introduce SureMed to the market, and in designing the Electronic PMAs used by the system, we have led the market in driving change which we hope will benefit you and your business.
